VivvyAnne ForeverMORE! and CounterPulse’s upcoming production “The Show” is a large-scale outdoor one-day-only multi-venue Drag performance event that celebrates the living oral, entertainment, and embodied traditions of the queer community. “The Show” will be presented as part of the biennial CounterPulse Festival taking place this October.

As a co-owner of The STUD, Vivvy has created “The Show” as a response to rapidly disappearing physical queer spaces with temporary placemaking throughout San Francisco.
The project is produced by CounterPulse and OX with collaborators Julie Phelps, Honey Mahogany, David Glamamore, and Joanna Haigood, as well as beloved local performers including Nicki Jizz, Lisa Frankenstein, Major Hammy, Fauxnique, Phoebe Cakes, Churro Nomi, Pseuda, and more!
FULL SCHEDULE
Saturday, October 14th in San Francisco
1PM – 5PM • The Peep Show
at CounterPulse • 80 Turk St
Just a block from the site of the Compton’s cafeteria riots, 16 artists perform for 4 hours through the plate glass window of CounterPulse’s lobby. Passerbys and invited audience get one on one public performances with drag artists. This performance dives into public intimacy, and being togetherness.

2PM-5PM • The Talks
at The Strand Theater • 1127 Market St
4 conversations between 8 drag artists in the Strand Theater Lobby, makes public the many backstage, kitchen table, and green room kikis between drag artists. The speakers share their favorite memories of drag, and compare stage stories, and gossip.

3PM – 5PM • The Photoshoot
at Civic Center Plaza on Larkin St
A cavalcade and steady stream of drag artists descend into Civic Center for public photoshoots and impromptu drag performances. This stream of Drags brings the rare birds of the nightlife into the daytime, and the public photoshoot exposes the workings of queer image making. DJs keep the vibe up and impromptu drag shows sparkle.

5PM – 7PM • The VIP
at The Line Hotel • 33 Turk St
An intimate mixer for friends and lovers of The STUD. Includes charcuterie, drinks, a ticket to The Finale, and a great view of CounterPulse from above!

7PM – 8:30PM • The Finale

A performance from the windows of the second story studio to the street, an installation, and a main stage drag show spectacle all to wrap up the day.

About VivvyAnne ForeverMORE! and OX
VivvyAnne ForeverMORE! (aka Cornelius Sigourney) works as a choreographer, dancer, Drag queen, performer and community activist. They combine high theory, low entertainment and rigorous theatrical training- making performance in the borderlands between theater, nightlife and dance. Their shows look like drag, look like poems, look like dance, look like theater, look like experiments, look like parties. They have shown in different places in the U.S.A as well as Europe. In 2020 they were on the YBCA 100 which prompted the performance I was paid to be here. They have been working with CounterPulse since 2013 on various iterations of their project “WorkMORE!” under their production company OX.
