When I set out to create an experience for Friday April 27th (both curating the evening and creating a performance), I knew it would be inspired by the work of Jean Paul Gaultier. I did not know that it would lead into such a process of inquiry. On March 11, 2010 Bay Area arts community members met at CounterPULSE for the Dance Discourse Project 8: Dance in Pop Culture. Co-presented by Dancers' Group. The event attempted to sort through the effects of YouTube and So You Think You Can Dance on dance today. Wrapping up Luxury Items!
Luxury Items was a super splendorific success. Besides being a fabulous production, this was also our longest running show to date, and garnered a ton of fantastic press!
