Klanghaus

Klanghaus, Klang meaning sound, and Haus meaning home, began in 2015 in an Oakland living room as an improvised approach to deal with the economic challenges that Bay Area artists face on a daily basis. Klanghaus has grown into a multidisciplinary artist ensemble that produces original performances, installations, parties and ceremonies. Each event creates a home for the community of artists exhibiting and audiences attending. The intention is to foster a creative environment that feels welcoming and enjoyable. We seek to embrace limitations to work creatively within a new paradigm, dissolving and transforming obstacles into gifts. The result is a punk rock approach to community theater. The fourth wall is rendered irrelevant and each audience member finds themself initiated into a new and radical process of play.
