CounterPULSE Volunteer Program
One of the best ways we get to know the amazing individuals who pass through our doors is through our Volunteer Program! Volunteers help make CounterPULSE’s mission of providing low-cost resources to artists and a no-one-turned-away-for-lack-or-funds admission policy achievable.
Volunteers have the opportunity to see shows for free, work with staff, board members, and artists, and gain experience with a dynamic arts organization. For each of our volunteer positions we find special ways to thank participants for their generous contribution of time and energy.
BECOME A VOLUNTEER!
Fill out this short form telling us more about your skill set, past experiences, and why you want to volunteer at CounterPULSE!
For questions about volunteering please contact: Jason McArthur at email@example.com or 415-626-2060.
Each CounterPULSE production needs three volunteers to assist with box office duties, selling concessions, and ushering. Event Volunteers receive free admission to the show and a drink on us. All Event Volunteers must:
-Arrive an hour and half before the start of the show
-Assist with pre-show duties
-Stay 15 minutes after the show to help with brief clean up
Professionals offering pro-bono services do incredible work from designing our promotional materials to remodeling our lobby. CounterPULSE embraces innovation and is committed to improving both internal and external systems to support the art we hold dear. We welcome help in web/ graphic design, database/ organizational consultancy, tax preparation, branding, etc.
Sometimes we need a little help around the office and theater. These friendly people offer hands-on assistance in painting, set-up, strike, and lighting.
Board of Directors:
Board members are CounterPULSE’s most devoted volunteers. Board members are donors, organizers, and ambassadors and becoming apart of this team is a hugely rewarding undertaking. If you are interested in finding out more about our board please see our Board Page.
CounterPULSE has internship positions available three times a year in outreach, development, arts administration and production management. Interns are an integral part of our team and benefit from professional development opportunities and hands on experience. To find out more about applying for our internship program please visit our Internship Page.
Marketing and Communications Committee Members:
Marketing and Communications Committee members assist our board and staff in outreach projects. Committee members are typically professionals who have 5 or more years of experience in communications, outreach, branding, partnerships, social media or grass roots development. Members benefit from sharing and learning from Bay Area arts marketing professionals.
May Day Planning Committee Members:
May Day is CounterPULSE’s major annual fundraiser, consisting of a three-night performance festival, auction, and party. May Day Committee members gain valuable experience in fundraising as well as working alongside our board of directors and staff. This is the perfect opportunity for young professionals and students to learn more about development and get to see a great show for free!
