Split is a 1-1 contemporary dance, performed for one audience member by one dancer at a time. The work examines the relationship between dissociative episodes and identity formation, and is informed by the performers’ personal histories, interviews with queer community members, Kushner’s Angels in America, and Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray

The performance takes place across four built environments and runs approximately 30 minutes. Though the performance is intimate in nature, there are no direct audience/performer interactions.

After arriving at 80 Turk ½, each audience member will be guided into the CounterPulse basement. There, they will receive a drink of their choice, have an opportunity to gaze upon a dozen portraits of local queer community members, view a short video installation, and witness a live performance.

Tickets for Split are being released two weeks at a time. If you’d like to be notified when the next batch of tickets become available, please email jblaska@factsf.org
