JuMP 2016 features the premieres of two contemporary dance works: Speck and Platform v.1.
Speck, created by JuMP 2016 Choreographer Katerina Wong, takes inspiration from the Voyager Golden Record and the artifacts NASA exported to the universe 40 years ago. Platform v.1, choreographed and performed by Liane Burns and Charles Slender-White, is a hyper-focused duet set to selections from Holly Herndon’s 2015 album, Platform.
Made possible by the FACT/SF Commissioning Program, JuMP (Just Make a Piece). Co-produced by CounterPulse, with additional support from the Zellerbach Family Foundation and FACT/SF’s individual donors.
