ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Daisy Eneix has exhibited internationally. She was awarded two artist residencies in Can Serrat, Spain culminating in group exhibitions and another in Solothurn, Switzerland, culminating in a solo exhibition. Drawing from the fertile ground of mythology, folklore and fairy tales, her work explores themes of liminality, intimacy and transformation. Daisy was born and raised in NYC where she studied painting and drawing at the School of Visual Arts while assisting a scientific illustrator. She receive her BA in art from Oberlin College and her MA in Creative Arts from SFSU, but it is the artists who came before that who taught her just as many things.
Born in South Korea and raised in the Bay Area, Nahyun Kim is an artist currently based in SF. She is inspired by the cyclical aspects of our existence and the rebirths that can happen when we trust ourselves. How can we be more playful when we find ourselves on the path between longing and action? Her oil paintings are a testament to her personal experiences as a Korean-American woman. They are shrines of the authentic self within. Nahyun earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University in 2012. She makes oil paintings, drawings and poems out of her home studio near Ocean Beach.
Interdisciplinary artist, Tyrell LaRon (who also creates music under the moniker L*Roneous) is both a product and a reflection of Oakland’s vibrant culture. Driven by two simple words “what if” seen on the cover of a comic book at six years old, Tyrell LaRon has been creating and utilizing this theme throughout his life. His wide ensemble of artistic works as a musician and author includes over 20 indie albums, multiple fiction stories (notably Ghetto Tech, the first installment in a series of afrofuturism novels released with a collaborative soundtrack and audiobook in 2019), published essays and editorials, award winning poetry, photography, and mixed media art. Regardless the medium, his motive has always remained true to those two magical words: what if.
