Ariellah and Darker Still Productions present:
Circling Sorrows: Suffering Explorations – The Ache of Disconnect
Circling Sorrows is a walk in the garden of decline that is our world. Struggling to emerge from the dominant paradigm of disconnect…returning back into the world of connection.
With each exploration of movement and sound, there comes ache and awakening.
Awakening to suffering.
Awakening to connection.
Awakening to awareness.
Awakening and remembering our most truest, inner selves.
Dismal Times, Revolutionary Connection…
It is a place where shadows are explored, suffering is given voice, and the erosion of connection is exposed. It is an awakening to the ache of disconnect, so to speak, as we find ourselves in the garden of decline, stuck in the paradigm of disconnect.
Our world holds both personal and collective trauma. All of life is suffering…and our desire to be free from it. The first step is to dive, willingly, into our grief, our loss, our suffering, our trauma. From there we can be available to come from a place of more love and compassion, allowing us to reconnect with ourselves, each other and the natural world around us. From this place, we can then forge new stories as a new, more connected, dominant paradigm.
From UNconscious to WE-conscious.
THIS, is revolutionary connection.
We invite you to immerse in this deep dive exploration and inhalation with us…
Music is Life!
Doors open at 7:15PM. Show begins promptly at 8PM.

Avant-shamanic Tuvan throat singing merged with modern, ethereal, and dark soundscapes. SoRIAH’s live performance is breathtaking, an experience of both beauty and artistic ritual. He has contributed to studio recordings of Modest Mouse, and The Dandy Warhols. Bad Unkl Sista ~
In a world designed to stimulate our senses, a poet’s heart dances beyond the paltry scope of words. Words can be tempting and limiting; they offer us safety from the natural world and the wild feelings in our hearts. The theater of Anastazia Louise engages these places without reliance on words. To witness her interactive visual poetry is to comprehend primal communication. She unravels themes woven throughout the human experience to stitch together stories that transport the witnesses to a powerful field of vulnerability. Anastazia’s performance goal for the last 25+ years has been to work with the thread of grief, loss, trauma release, and renewal. For this piece, she offers the raw journey of disintegration of self brought about by the mourning of the state of our world, its people, and our Earth along with a 2-year forced hiatus from performance and teaching. This piece is about the journey of remembering, a holding of the self, and the holding of each other.
Paul Mercer ~
Paul Mercer is a composer and violinist from Atlanta, Georgia. He began studying the violin at age eight and started writing music almost immediately. At age 17, an epiphany occurred and music became the focus of his life. Developing his unique improvisational approach to the violin from street performing and forays into different genres and styles, he joined the neoclassical pop quintet The Changelings at their inception in 1994, going on to produce six critically acclaimed albums with them. In 1995 he began studying Hindustani music with Afghan Rebab master Rafi Akbar Zada. The influence of raga and its ancient concept of modal music theory went on to greatly influence his style. In 1997 he entered the violin business, learning a great deal of the instruments history as well as becoming adept at identifying the work of different schools of makers. This experience led to the production of his first solo album of classical work, entitled “Ghosts”. This recording has led to numerous soundtrack productions for stage and film, 36 to date. In 2004 he began performing with avant garde jazz pioneers DP3, releasing three albums. 2006 saw the birth of The Ghosts Project with cofounder Davis Petterson, which refined his improvisational technique and has resulted in three albums and improvisational musical collaborations too numerous to count. In recent years he has toured and/or recorded with Jill Tracy, Zoe Keating, Brass Knuckle Surfer and Faith And The Muse at venues all over the world. He is currently working on a new Changelings album, a new Ghosts Project album, and putting the final touches on several soundtrack releases.
