Renting CounterPulse for Rehearsals

Our rehearsals rates are for dance rehearsals, theater rehearsals, readings, and non-profit company meetings.  Full space is available with access to boom box for sound playback and normal overhead work light.

REFUNDABLE DEPOSITS

Key Deposit:  Please make arrangements in advance to pick up a key if necessary. If key is not returned within one month following your event, we will cash your deposit. $50/key


FACILITIES

Space/Theater: 1350 – ft2 : This includes:

  • Stage area of 25’ wide x 26’ deep studio-theater with
  • 15 ft ceilings & aerial riggable & option of black curtains
  • Fully sprung hardwood floor covered with black marley
  • Two single-stall ADA bathrooms, 1 dressing room/green room, and 1 full kitchen.

Fire hallway is available for moving bodies only and cannot be used to store anything. Backstage bathrooms are shared with office staff & audience. Dressing room/green room is suitable for 3 or 4 people. It also contains a shower.

Technical Equipment: A boombox and fluorescent work light is available for all rehearsal rentals. For extra fees, CounterPulse has a full range sound system, 16 channel Soundcraft FX Board with built in effects, 24 dimmers, 21 unit Rep Light Plot, ETC Express 24/48 board and a 3000 lumens projector. Access to theatrical equipment requires an in-house technician. No unauthorized access to the booth is permitted.

Audience Seating: CounterPulse has a legal capacity of 172 people. Standard seating accommodates 95 seats. Pillows are available for floor seating.

Flooring: The theater floor is a sprung hardwood dance floor covered in black marley. The marley is required at any event where shoes are worn or heavy props are used that may damage the wood floor.

Lost and Found: CounterPulse is not responsible for any items that you or your participants leave behind.

Trash/Recycling: You are responsible for disposing of any sets/props/costumes and other production related rubbish that exceeds the capacity of our receptacles. CounterPulse is responsible for disposing of all rubbish generated by audience and concession sales.

Security: For security reasons, the front and side doors cannot be left open unless they are being closely monitored. There is a $50 fine for leaving the door unlocked and unmonitored.

Accessibility: We are an ADA-accessible theater. Wheelchair ramps must be accessible at all times. The backstage areas must be kept clear before/after the show and during intermission to allow access to restrooms.

Animals: Only licensed service animals are permitted at CounterPulse.


CONTRACT POLICIES

Cancellation Policy: Rehearsal time booked at CounterPulse needs to be cancelled at least 7 full days prior to rehearsal or you will need to pay the full amount. You pay for all the time booked even if it is not used. “No shows” for rehearsal time will also be billed the full amount. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Sign Out Sheet/Demographic Surveys: You are responsible for signing out after each booking with date, name, # of attendees (important for grants), and any notes/problems with the space (clipboard located on office door). Please also have each attendee fill out a ONE TIME demographic survey (blank ones found in the “For Rental Exchange Participants” box located in the office hallway). Please leave the surveys, the door key (if applicable), and the remainder of payment in the ” For CounterPulse” box located in the office hallway.

Point of Contact: You are responsible for communicating all policies and agreements in the CounterPulse contract to your collaborators.
